a formal statement of competency resulting from a process of assessment or audit of an individual’s competence, certifying that an individual possesses the education, training and experience required to meet specific job performance requirements. The qualification may enable an individual to work independently, depending on local and national policies. Also used to identify a process of formal confirmation that an individual meets qualification requirements.
