Description
The technical support offered by TSO's may vary in its scope, depending on the TSO's mission. TSO's may have an R&D base, support regulatory bodies, educate and train operators or perform industry assignements. Therefore, depending on the orientation of the TSO, the challenges will be those of R&D, regulatory or industrial organizations, or a mixture of these. With respect to KM, TSO's may act as consultants for R&D, regulatory bodies and industry in defining and implementing a KM programme. Therefore, TSO's must acquire a sound theoretical as well as practical knowledge in implementing a KM programme; this is certainly best done by initiating a KM programme in the TSO itself.
